I don’t get this move… EMC does storage services, and VMWare makes software that lets you run Windows on a Linux machine, or Linux on a Windows machine, in a window. My guess is that they’re trying to become the next Computer Associates branching out into a larger vendor of both hardware and software. I fail to see the synergy, however.
